To get to Dallas, Maria Moros took the long way home. The Washington, D.C.-born, Venezuela-raised, Ft. Lauderdale-educated real estate agent knew when her family landed here in 2011 that this was a place she could live for a long time. In her words: “I don’t love Dallas, I’m IN love with Dallas.” Not so coincidentally, it’s where she also fell in love with her husband, Michael.
Growing up, Maria was introduced to the industry through her father who was a developer in Venezuela and later flipped houses in the U.S. They also made some real estate investments when they moved to Florida. So she gleaned a lot from the sidelines. Then after three years of law school and a degree in PoliSci from Florida Atlantic University, Maria added some accounting classes to her arsenal. When she eventually decided to get her license, she found these experiences had prepared her well for reading and writing up contracts, negotiating and more. She especially loves helping first-time homebuyers and “right-sizers” and connecting with them through the process.
When Maria is not learning and focusing on her clients' needs, she loves yoga, watching movies and trying restaurants with her husband and getting to know more Dallas neighborhoods. Of course, she always takes the long way home then, too.
