DIANE SHERMAN
If you are interested in the older and historic homes of Oak Cliff and Dallas, Diane Sherman is a Realtor who knows the communities from the inside out. Diane has been a resident of historic Winnetka Heights for 40 years. She is a founder of the Winnetka Heights Neighborhood Association and helped spark the preservation based renaissance of North Oak Cliff.
She serves in numerous neighborhood and community capacities. Chairing historic
improvement initiatives - lighting, signage, sidewalk replacement, park formation, Crime Watch - and presiding as President of neighborhood and school associations has given Diane a unique understanding of these quiet and beautiful areas.
Diane is dedicated to the community she serves and that dedication serves her clients well. More than a Realtor, Diane is a resource that assists buyers in knowing the neighborhood and the surrounding areas they will call home and guides sellers in marketing the strengths of their home and community.
Diane has a lifelong interest in older, historic homes stemming from visits with her uncle, Paul Buchanan, a noted 17th Century architectural historian with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation of Virginia. Perhaps this interest is why she has chosen to spend her life in a historic home and aid others who have chosen to experience the joys and comforts that classic homes can provide.
Diane is a Bellaire native, a University of Texas graduate, and a consistent multi-million dollar producer since obtaining her Real Estate License in 1995. Diane volunteers at Preservation Dallas instructing other Realtors on ways to foster the responsible stewardship associated with owning a protected structure and holds the Advanced Historic House Specialist certification. She has served on the City of Dallas Landmark Commission since April of 2013.
VINNIE SHERMAN
When Vinnie Sherman enlisted in the military nearly 15 years ago, probably the furthest thought from his mind at the time was how all the training, discipline, attention to detail and analysis would one day benefit him when helping people buy and sell homes. In hindsight, the Army Ranger and Sergeant couldn’t have picked a better route to his current career. Coupled with his born-and-raised-in-North-Oak-Cliff status, his lineage (mother/business partner Diane Sherman is a long-time agent and historic homes expert) and his innate sense of what lends value to real estate, Vinnie is more than prepared to lead and serve his clients well.
Vinnie and his wife, Taryn, and their two young children live in the Elmwood neighborhood. Their home overlooks a large undeveloped meadow that makes a great playground. They are growing up, much as Vinnie did, attending the same area schools and visiting their grandparents in the same 1913 house with 10-foot ceilings that he once called home. Not one to shy away from adventure and exploration – he did serve several tours in the Middle East after all - Vinnie also enjoys crossing I-30/I-35 to show off Northwest Dallas, Uptown, Mockingbird Park and Far North Dallas.
In his free time, Vinnie enjoys watching his University of Texas Longhorns, organic gardening and playing in a North Oak Cliff Bocce Ball League.
