The Art of Movement with Dallas Arboretum

The Art of Movement with Dallas Arboretum

Meander through the Dallas Arboretum’s ever-lush gardens, and you’ll be amazed to find a pleasant surprise among the myriad of blooms.

Nestled amid the crepe myrtles and delphiniums are artist Lyman Whitaker’s kinetic sculptures moving elegantly with the gentle breezes. The exhibit Wind Sculptures in Motion, sponsored in part by Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, is a showcase of 140 copper and stainless steel sculptures. The display will be showcased through July 31.

Whitaker is the country’s foremost expert of kinetic sculptures, mastering the craft for the past 30 years. Each piece is towering  — ranging from 5 to 27 feet tall.

“They’re really informed by nature. That’s why it feels like they were coming home when they got here,” Whitaker says.

The pieces are available to purchase and range from $400 to $26,000. A portion of the purchases will benefit the Arboretum.

Read more about Whitaker’s exhibit in Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s Spring/Summer 2018 Fine Home Collection, available at DPMmagazine.com or at dallasarboretum.org.

Iconic estate is largest sale on Lakeside Drive in a Decade

Hal Thompson Home Newly Listed in Park Cities

Historically real estate agents often find themselves in a bit of a lull at the end of the year, particularly in the luxury end of the market. Not so for Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate listing agents Bo Parker (Highland Park Office) and Cindy Bruner (Preston Center Office). The two just closed the largest sale on Lakeside Drive in a decade.

The home they represented at 4412 Lakeside Drive is an iconic 1918 Hal Thompson beauty overlooking Exall Lake in Highland Park, marketed for $9,495,000.

“This house was truly a joy to show,” says Parker. “It’s a masterpiece that beautifully blends the character of days gone past and today’s updated clean palette. It has an elegance and integrity that cannot be replicated.”

Though it has been off and on the market over the last few years, it was most recently back on for just 66 days before going under contract. The previous owner invested in significant upgrades to the 9,035-square-foot, four-bedroom home, and the skills of premier home stager George Bass were enlisted to help attract the new buyer. The efforts paid off on Nov. 22.

“We had quite a bit of interest and multiple offers on the property,” Bruner says, “so I think there is still movement at the top end of the market. The buyers loved the warmth and authenticity of the home, but I think it was all of the wonderful indoor and outdoor living spaces that really sold them on this property.”

The sale sends a strong message that high-end buyers are not clutching their checkbooks, even during the holidays.

The brand also closed another significant Highland Park property earlier in November. Laura Michelle and Ryan Streiff of the Perry-Miller Streiff Group were the listing agents for 6101 Saint Andrews, which was offered for $5,495,000. These sales help bring Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s market share in the Park Cities to 16 percent so far in 2017, an impressive number given that this year more than 166 brokerages sold homes in Area 25 (per MLS data).

Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate is a division of Ebby Halliday Real Estate, Inc., with five locations that specialize in Park Cities, Preston Hollow, North Dallas, Lakewood, East Dallas, Uptown, Kessler Park and Farm & Ranch properties.

Attracting strong agents with hallmark support, integrity

Recruiting Strong Agents

Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, a division of the Ebby Halliday Companies, recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary. And while many brands have been around longer, likely none of them started just as the housing bubble began to burst.

“They survived the 2008-2010 market downturn, and not only grew, but thrived,” said Ebby Halliday Companies Chief Financial Officer Ron Burgert. “What a testament to the caliber and resolve of the agents who’ve remained loyal through the years and continued imparting the brand’s core values of service, excellence and market knowledge.”

In 2016, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate garnered No. 1 status in Sold Volume/Market Share throughout many key areas of Dallas, including North Dallas/Preston Hollow, East Dallas/Lakewood, North Oak Cliff/Kessler Park, Northwest Dallas and Uptown/Downtown per MLS. It is poised to repeat for 2017.

“This success also comes from our stance on substance, truth and customer satisfaction — for agents and clients,” said Park Cities/Lakewood Sales Manager Lee Thomas. “Operating with honor, being fact-based and practicing the Golden Rule is cherished throughout our brand.”

In 2017, 59 agents have embraced these ideals — 29 in the past eight weeks alone. The agents include: Cole Bagley, Kendall Bratton, Sam Bullard, Valerie Caddell, Kelly Crawford, Max Daniel, Paola Devaldenebro, Erin DeWitt, Lauri Ann Hanson, Carrie Hill, Peggy Hill, Bitsy Hudnall, Diana King, Wendy Lucas, Jamie Marancenbaum, Tammy McLaine, Ellen Middleton, Adam Murphy, Sheryl Peterson, Frank Provenzano, Alyssa Ramsey, Betsy Rosen, Amy Schreiner, Warren Sibley, Phillip Tilger, Dale Thompson, Martha Voigt, Kay Wheeler and Lisa Youngblood.

“When I wanted to take my business to the next level, I spoke with a dozen successful agents at other brokerages,” said Tammy McLaine. “My heart led me here. The difference the move has made in such a short time is unbelievable. Such teamwork and support!”

InTown Sales Manager Becky Connatser said, “The culture here promotes the highest degree of professionalism and encourages a collaborative atmosphere. We can offer agents some of the best tools in the marketplace, plus our national and global affiliations with Leading Real Estate Companies of the World and Luxury Portfolio International.”

Diane Gruber, sales manager of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate’s Preston Center office, added, “Agents routinely tell me how thoroughly impressed they are by our marketing support, and the continuing education/training we offer. Hands down, the best in the region.”

This commitment of service to all Associates extends to the brand’s internal Advisory Board. Agents have the chance to formulate operations using input received from their respective offices.

Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate Celebrates 10 Years with 140+ Open Houses

Sunday, May 21st, marks the 10th anniversary of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. The brand, which was absorbed into the Ebby Halliday Family of Companies a decade ago, has steadily risen in the ranks of area brokerages over a relatively short period of time. It had ascended to the number one spot for total sales volume in Dallas proper by the end of 2016 and has maintained this placement through Q1 of 2017 (according to MLS data for Areas 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18 and 25).

Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate has purchased five billboards around Dallas to promote this Sunday's Open House extravaganza.
Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate has purchased five billboards around Dallas to promote this Sunday’s Open House extravaganza.

To celebrate the milestone — an impressive achievement given the company’s formidable competition and the prolific nature of the industry – agents will be holding open 140+ homes citywide, as well as handing out token gifts to attendees as a “thank you” for supporting the brand.

“In its infancy, Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate survived the 2008-2010 market downturn,” said Ebby Halliday CFO Ron Burgert, “and continued not only to grow, but to thrive. This is a testament to the caliber and resolve of the many agents who have remained loyal through the years. They’ve worked hard to make sure clients understand the brand’s core values of service, excellence and unparalleled market knowledge. Once you get someone to experience this difference for themselves, they typically make the shift to seeing a DPM agent as their ‘agent for life.’”

To promote the open home tour — extending from Southlake to Rockwall, and Prosper to South Dallas — the firm has taken out five digital billboards and two full page ads in the Dallas Morning News and ramped up its email efforts and social media presence. For a complete list of homes that will be held open today, visit openhouse.daveperrymiller.com.
