Joyful Journey With Kristi Kennimer

When Kristi Kennimer became a gallery-represented artist (before her own gallery), she says it was bittersweet. She had the recognition, but felt uncomfortable in the pretense of the art scene. She wondered if there was a way to be a serious artist creating seemingly unserious work and selling to serious collectors who don’t take the art scene seriously.

With her own experience in mind, Kennimer has made Scarlet Reagan a place others like her feel comfortable.

Her original group are women who are incredible artists and who have a positive outlook and bright shining spirit.

They are also the kind of people who are game for trying new things. For example, Kennimer has asked them all to create a limited series of gift-able art for this holiday season. She’s passionate about offering her customers affordable original art to give to their loved ones instead of forgettable China-made trinkets.

“Come see us this holiday,” Kennimer lights up. “My family and I have been working for months creating an interactive anamorphic art installation with gifts you can buy right off the installation for under $30. It’s going to be such a fun shopping experience, but I’m most excited about the meaning behind it!”

Top 100_plus brands_Square

The Ebby Halliday Companies, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, has been named the No. 11 best place to work in North Texas in the Large Companies category of The Dallas Morning News’ 2019 Top 100 Places to Work. The announcement came at the 11th-annual Top 100 Places to Work gala event, held November 13 at the Omni Dallas Hotel in downtown Dallas.

The annual contest is overseen by The Dallas Morning News’ research partner, Workplace Dynamics, a recognized leader in measuring the health of U.S. companies based on employee opinions. Companies are graded in performance of leadership, sense of mission, career opportunities, culture, and pay and benefits.

This year The Dallas Morning News surveyed 330 D-FW companies that employ 154,197 people. The results were determined by 78,960 responses to determine the 100 best.

“It’s so meaningful for the Ebby Halliday Companies to be named one of the Top 100 Places to Work by The Dallas Morning News as we approach our 75th anniversary of serving the residential real estate needs of North Texans and those choosing to move here,” says Ebby Halliday Companies President & CEO Chris Kelly. “This is a great honor for us as a company. I’m most proud that our people are so passionate about the workplace they’ve helped build together.”

The Ebby Halliday Companies is comprised of three real estate brands, Dallas-based Ebby Halliday Realtors and Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, and Fort Worth-based Williams Trew, as well as core-services companies Prosperity MortgageHome Team Insurance and Texas Premier Title.

Founded in 1945 as a one-woman, one-office firm, Ebby Halliday today is the largest residential real estate company in Texas by sales volume. It was acquired by HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate and the country’s largest residential real estate company based on transactions, in 2018.

“Our people are humble, hungry and smart,” Kelly says. “We treat the Ebby Halliday family of companies as one team and share a common goal of service to our clients, service to our industry and service to our community.

“As an Ebby Halliday Companies client, you’ll benefit from knowledgeable, respected real estate agents and a team of trusted professionals dedicated to making buying or selling your home one convenient experience. Celebrate The 43Rd Annual Lakewood Home Festival

7035 Lakewood

Attending a festival is a must for the fall season. Don’t worry about finding one, because Lakewood Early Childhood PTA is hosting this year’s 43rd annual Lakewood Home Festival, co-sponsored by Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate. The community-wide festival commemorates the historical and architectural presence in the neighborhood.

The houses featured at the festival this year are designed by noted architect Clifford Hutsell. Along with the classic homes of Lakewood, modern homes will be featured in the tour, as both styles continue to attract growing families to the community. In addition, attendees will have the chance to take a tour of the newly renovated Lakewood Elementary School.

The Lakewood Home Tour will kick off with with our sponsored auction party Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Omni Hotel. The party generates a portion of the overall Home Festival funds through ticket sales, and through a silent auction, thanks to the help of local businesses and community partners.
