This weekend should inspire plenty of people to peruse our list of homes for sale in North Oak Cliff. That’s because the neighborhood¬†will be full of events related to Mardi Gras, including the Dash for the Beads 5K on Saturday morning, the OCarnivale Masquerade Ball on Saturday evening, and the Oak Cliff Mardi Gras Parade on Sunday afternoon. For a full rundown of the weekend’s festivities, check out the Hewitt & Habgood Realty Group’s blog.

If you were thinking of having dinner in the Bishop Arts District tonight, but you’re not in the mood for a festival celebrating the French version of Independence Day, change your dinner plans.

But if you’d like to have a good time and get a preview of what makes North Oak Cliff such a vibrant neighborhood, then you should attend Bastille on Bishop. There will be French cuisine such as crepes and ratatouille, French games such as petanque, and live music.

Bastille on Bishop is one of four annual events put on by the organization¬†Go Oak Cliff. Their other big festivals are Mardi Gras Oak Cliff, Brew Riot, and Blues, Bandits & BBQ. This group of go-getters has really strengthened the sense of pride people in that neighborhood have. They don’t live in Dallas, they’ll tell you; they live in Oak Cliff.

And if attending tonight’s party makes you want to live in Oak Cliff, one of these properties could be your next home.
