Preston Hollow Homes Sold For Much More in April Than They Did in March

The average sales price for homes in the Preston Hollow area increased by a whopping 47 percent in April when compared to the previous month and a more-modest 14 percent when compared to April of 2014.

The following statistics were recently released by the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University. Supplied by North Texas Real Estate Information Systems, they represent single-family sales in Area 11, which is generally bounded by Northwest Highway, Midway Road, LBJ Freeway, and Central Expressway.

There was 4.3 months’ worth of inventory in Area 11 last month. That means if no other homes came on the market, it would take a little more than four months for the current inventory to sell. That statistic was up from a year ago, but the average number of days on the market was down.

The person who wins the May 9 election for the District 1 seat on the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees will represent portions of Preston Hollow, North Dallas, and Far North Dallas. Residents of those areas must have a keen interest in being represented properly, because no fewer than seven neighborhood associations are co-sponsoring a candidates forum on Thursday. The two hopefuls who will appear on the ballot are Edwin Flores and Kyle Renard, who also ran against each other in 2009. Thursday’s forum will start at 6:30 p.m. at Withers Elementary School.
